The presentation was held during the 176 session of the UNESCO Executive Board (where among items of agenda was the establishment of the International Centre for Information and Analysis on Sustainable Energy Development as a category II centre under the auspices of UNESCO).

UNESCO enjoys the enormous scientific and educational potential that must be applied to resolve the present international energy problems like lack of reliable information of international energy markets and necessity of deep scientific analysis of the current situation.
